On my way home from class today, I pulled up on a 1955 Thunderbird. Looked to be in good condition and ran like a champ. We played a little bit through traffic and then waved at each other as I turned off. The driver must have been in his early to mid-20s. So what a guy my age is doing driving a T-Bird around is anyone’s guess. But damn was I jealous as all hell.

Kinja Kinja’d the pictures so that if you click on them, they open up sideways. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I lack the Kinja-fu required to figure out how to correct the problem. Those of you who were born with sideways eyeballs, this is your moment.

Love the 2-seater Birds! It looks to be in immaculate condition.

My dad has a 56. He keeps saying “one day it will be yours”. He’s had it for over 30 years. I don’t have the heart to tell him it’s not really my style. I’ve always thought of it as more of a chick car. I don’t want to disappoint him, and hate to sound ungrateful for an essentially free car, but garage space is limited. It’s too nice to be outside, but I can’t let it tie up 1 of only 2 spaces. I don’t like it enough to pay $125 a month for storage either. Maybe my sister will let me keep it in her garage.

His is peacock blue with the continental kit. That black 55 actually doesn’t look too bad.

Ah, I can see that looking a little feminine I guess. Is the continental kit removable I wonder?

It is, but you have to change the bumper to a standard bumper, otherwise it would weird with the kit missing.
